Re: Part-time courses?

I`ve scoured our local tech brochure for something interesting like pasta making, bread making etc, and there`s nothing! I paid for a a12 week course in papercraft only to be told yesterday that as only 4 people had shown interest they probably wouldn`t be running it!

Back to the drawing board. Anyone doing anything exciting this term?

Thanks for the reminder Crumbs, I intended to see what was available at our local college but it had completely slipped my mind - better have a quick look see if there is anything interesting.
It's a nuisance when you've paid for a course and look forward in anticipation then - ZIP. At least they'll give you your money back if there's nothing else that takes your interest.

I saw an interesting course on the internet this morning. It`s a food smoking course in Cumbria, of all places! Smoky Jo`s workshops. They smoke anything that moves.
Get enrollinng, Liz, it could be a long winter.

I'll send my OH to be smoked Crumbs, might keep him quiet - he's having one of his (admittedly rare) grumpy old man spells and he's getting on my nerves. I mean, I'm never a G.O.W. (and my nose is growing ever longer as we speak!)
Might look that one up, it looks interesting but Cumbria is a big county so it could be further away than is practicable.

Dolly, there are loads around, just not here!!

Anna, we`ll want to see the results on our gallery once you`ve mastered the art!! Enjoy that, it`ll be fun.

Congrats, DS, just wondering if it was a short 2 or 3 day course? Glad you`re not coming here for tea, you`d have a field day in my kitchen - I have a dog!!

Biggs, naughty step for you, I`m afraid! Your francais must be pretty good by now!

  • Oh No it isn't*, but thanks for the vote of confidence. I do manage to get by, the people are so friendly and helpful. Went into a clock shop yesterday and tried to buy clock for my brother. Had great fun explaining that I wanted a clock with no numerals and basically no face, just the hands and to be quite large at 70 cms (Argos do one for £14.99), but I don['t want to buy him that one. Anyway, we have looked at a catalogue and we go back to the shop on Wednesday to see if our selected clock is available - being a Saturday afternoon in France, the information was not obtainable.

I'm off back to the garden, will that do instead of the naughty step :0)))))
