I wrote the poems , & posted them ,
Then logged on to see what people thought,
The answers were not hard to count ,
Most times a whopping nought.!!!

That's the reason I stopped writing,
I felt folk did not enjoy ,
Were any of them ever read ? ,
No one posted a reply.

I write for fun , & not for cash ,
Tho' offers I have had,
I happy when I'm sitting
With my pencil , & my pad.

I've written since the age of five,
Homework was often done in rhyme ,
History detailed beautifully in verse ,
Ah , Memories of a very happy time.

My R E homework once I did ,
From start to end in verse ,
Our priest was not a happy man ,
His reply to me was terse.

That was all a long time ago ,
How fast the years go by,
The power of the pen is mighty ,
It can make you laugh , or make you cry.

The words just roll out of my head, it has always been the same.I had a brilliant teacher at school who encouraged me at the age of 5 to do most of my homework in rhyme.I can also talk in rhyme with great ease.

I've enjoyed reading your poems again, I always enjoy them and they often raise a smile. You have a succint way of making the relevant point as well. I think you are truly talented. I'm sorry, I don't always have the time to log on and reply but I do always read and enjoy.
I now consider myself duly reprimanded, LOL ,and will endeavour to place a comment. Always so easy to read and sometimes thought provoking. I do hope you will post more. I enjoyed Yummy's poems too.

Tis a gift you have Anastasia, and it should be shared. I am amazed at the way you can turn any situation into a poem and they are always from the heart.
I miss Mr P too and hope that one day the De Lia code will be back with us.

Great poems Anastasia. I`m guilty for not going into Creative Corner much. It`s just habit and I tend to just go into the Coffee Time and Can You Help.
I`ll try and remember in future to check. You do brighten our day - keep it up.

Hello Ann, so nice to see you back , like Kk usually only stick to coffee & can you help page. When i do pop over hear it is really good to see your work and hear about your adventures with your small men.. Keep safe this summer, don't forget all that protective gear when climbing trees and skate boarding.
I passed on your recipe for your Apricot cake to a friend last week she always asks for it when she passes on her visit. Your Tomato chutney i now make in huge batches, never lasts long, once people taste it they always ask if i have a spare jar they can have.
Please Keep the poems coming. you too Yummy.
